Arcade art exhibit to pop up on West Street

Nick Grandchamp is hoping to recapture a piece of his childhood, and he wants to bring Rutland with him.

Grandchamp, 31, took a break from work Tuesday to play a game of Asteroids. The game is one of several featured in an exhibit he is setting up at the former Stoplight Bar space on West Street — a six-week event opening Sunday and organized by Art Is Vital.

Spring Art Walk: Rutland Celebrates its Art Friday

Art Is Vital, Downtown Rutland is collaborating with local art spaces to increase access to the arts as the city celebrates spring finally arriving with a Spring Art Walk 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4. Participating are 77 Gallery, Opera House Gallery, City Hall, Castleton University Bank Gallery, the Alley Gallery, TimCo Art Gallery and Chaffee Art Center.
