Calling all poets: The Paper Poet is back! Join the Downtown Rutland Partnership and The Paper Poet in celebrating National Poetry Month all April long. In collaboration with Phoenix Books, many of your favorite downtown businesses have poems on display in their windows for you to collect in your very own Poetry Passport. All poems will be on display through the first week of May. Poetry passports which include where you can find poems throughout our district can be picked up at Phoenix Books or downloaded online at The Paper Poet.
In addition to the Poetry Passport, The Paper Poet in partnership with Come Alive Outside will be hosting a poetry walk on Monday, April 17 from 12:00pm-1:00pm. This event is free and open to the public, and all participants will be able to enjoy a downtown exploration with a collective sidewalk chalk poem writing! Pocket Poems will be gifted to the first 10 people who arrive, so be sure you’re early!
