Street Party Details

The Downtown Rutland Street Party is a free community event featuring sidewalk sales, activities, and entertainment. Center Street and Merchants Row are blocked off to make room for a variety of vendors set up along the street in an open-air fashion, while the outdoor farmers' market takes place nearby in Depot Park. Visitors enjoy music, outdoor dining, children’s activities, and more. This historic event brings over 1,200 people into Downtown Rutland each year. By submitting an application, you agree to the following rules and guidelines.

Setup and Tear-Down

Booths must be set up before 8:45 am that morning. All vehicles must be removed from within the festival boundaries by 8:45 am. No vehicles will be allowed on event grounds again until 5 pm. We ask all vendors to strictly observe these setup and takedown times. Early departures are disruptive to other vendors, patrons, and the entertainment. Please ensure that the appearance of your booth is clean, professional, and inviting. All vendors are required to secure their tents with their weights properly in place. Tents may not be staked. We kindly request that all vendors strictly adhere to these times.

If you will be late, please notify us in advance, and we will provide alternative instructions. If you need to cancel for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible.

Please note that this is a rain-or-shine event. A tent and weights to protect your goods, information, activities, and yourself are strongly recommended. All tents MUST be weighted and secure! As always, this is a non-smoking event. If you need to smoke, please find a spot outside of the event boundaries. We also ask that you take all of your trash out with you at the end of the day. Please do not leave bags of trash sitting in the street, and refrain from stuffing bags of trash into any of our bins.

Payments & Paperwork

The Downtown Rutland Partnership requires all vendors to provide copies of any permits, paperwork, or licenses required by the city or the state. Payment is required with the submission of this application and is non-refundable. Food vendors must provide proof of insurance. Vendors are subject to the Rooms, Meals, and Entertainment Tax, as well as the 1% Local Option Tax in Rutland City, and are responsible for submitting the required form to the city post-event.

The Downtown Rutland Partnership reserves the right to reject any application. If an application is rejected, payment will be refunded. The refund may take several days to process through banking systems. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 802.773.9380 or e-mail info@downtownrutland.com. Due to the event’s popularity, vendor space is limited. We reserve the right to jury each application. Additional information may be required.

Power

The availability of power is limited and not guaranteed. If you require power, please notify us on the form, and we will contact you to arrange the setup. Food production equipment and any other large equipment must be powered by your own means (solar, generator, etc). If you're looking to power a cell phone or tablet, we recommend investing in a portable power bank.

Parking

Please park in the LAZ Parking Garage accessible from either Wales or West Street. We can provide a validated voucher for free parking to use on your way out of the garage at the end of the day. Please ask us for one at any time during the day, and we will provide you with the voucher.

Additional Details

The event may be inspected by the Vermont Department of Health or the Vermont Department of Liquor Control. Please review their guidelines before submitting your application. If the participating event is inspected, we encourage all our vendors to provide complete documentation to the state inspector at the time of review.
