The Downtown Rutland Partnership is pleased to announce that Amber Sprott Boutique is the latest recipient of their downtown grant program.

Amber Sprott is a designer dress boutique that opened at 24 Center Street late last fall. Owner Janelle Howard specializes in providing a personalized shopping and customer service experience while striving to offer affordable rates on designer gowns and formal wear. She provides consultation services on bridal, prom and pageant needs.

Howard is using the grant funds to continue improving the experience of her clients through the purchase of additional display racks, seating and other amenities that will allow her to grow her business.

The Partnership’s business development committee, who reviews all grant applications, was particularly impressed with Howard’s enthusiasm for downtown and her interest in partnering with other local businesses to help each other grow together.

“Janelle has exactly the type of energy and community mindset we want to see in downtown,” said Steve Peters, Executive Director of the Partnership. “In the few short months her boutique has been open, we’ve seen her be proactive, creative and incredibly positive.”

Amber Sprott Boutique is also helping to fill a void of a niche market, as there are no other bridal shops currently open in Rutland.

Howard is extremely thankful for the support from the community and is currently keeping busy booking appointments as prom season fast approaches.

“Knowing that my community supports me and wants me here is a feeling that is hard to duplicate. It gives me even more motivation to be successful and work with those around me to help downtown become what we all believe it can be,” said Howard.
