Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain the cleanliness of sidewalks and the urban environment within Rutland Vermont’s designated downtown district. This is a seasonal, part-time position averaging 10 hours per week through October, with flexibility on the schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operates leaf blower and removes street litter to maintain cleanliness of downtown sidewalks.
Participates in various maintenance and cleaning projects, such as painting, weeding, washing and trash pick up in order to help keep downtown looking attractive.
Identifies and reports potential hazards or areas in need of repair to keep public spaces safe.
Additional duties
Assists in seasonal decorating projects.
Assists with occasional event setup and cleanup.
Requirements
Must be able to be on feet for several hours at a time.
Must be able to bend, lift, pull, reach and other tasks related to cleaning and repair work that require physical movement.
Must be an effective and polite communicator with DRP staff, downtown businesses, and the public.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Education, Experience & Skills
Must be detail oriented, focused, reliable and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Compensation: $13/hour
