Ready, Set, Go: Race, Parade and Pop-Up Park

Center Street will once again be home to the Vermont Great 2,4,6,8K Run Walk and Green Street Challenge on September 15th.

The Vermont Great 2,4,6,8K Run Walk benefits the Pallative Care program at Rutland Regional Medical Center and the Green Street Challenge by Come Alive Outside which will bring green grass and outdoor games and activities to Center Street for children & families of all ages and abilities to enjoy.

New to Downtown Rutland this year is the Cairo Shriners Parade, which will take place at 2pm and will follow the same route as the annual Loyalty Day parade. Rutland is the location for the 2018 Northeast Shrine Association Fall Field Days, which features friendly competitions among units.

Other notable events in Downtown Rutland this weekend include a pre-run or walk stretch session hosted by Rebekah Robichaud of Live Love Yoga on the grass at 9:30am, a free barre class at Triumph Barre & Pilates Studio at noon, magic by Tom Joyce at 12:30pm, a "Treasures Galore" sale at BROC to benefit the New Story Center from 9am to 2pm, a book signing for "Backroads & Byways of Vermont" at Phoenix Books at noon, an all-day tabletop board game competition at Black Moon Games and the Downtown Summer Farmers Market in Depot Park.
