Earth Day Event Celebrates Completion of Downtown's Largest Solar Array

BROC Community Action will have an Earth Day Celebration at their location at 45 Union Street on Tuesday, April 24th from 9:30 to 11am.

BROC will be recognizing their partnership with Green Mountain Power, Philip Allen and the team at Same Sun Vermont, and the support from the USDA that led to the completion of the largest solar array in downtown Rutland.

The solar array, which boasts 213 solar panels, will save the non-profit nearly a quarter of a million dollars over their useful life and will offset nearly 56,000 pounds of carbon pollution per year.

"The Clean Up Kids," a group of over 140 First Grade Students from Rutland Northeast Primary School and Rutland Northwest Primary School, will perform Earth Day Songs at the event and refreshments will be served.

Please join BROC, GMP, Same Sun and the Mayor as we celebrate this very upbeat and positive moment for Rutland.
