Public invited to draw downtown, together

INVITATION TO DRAW ON ​RUTLAND DRAWING DAY

Art is vital invites you to participate in ​Rutland Drawing Da​y, on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the city’s first dedicated day for anyone interested in an artistic capture of our downtown.

If you like to draw, sketch, or color, you will want to mark your calendars to join the cadre of other like-minded folks, from kindergartners to octogenarians, novice to professionals.

Anyone who’d think it could be an enjoyable experience to spend an afternoon with others drawing beautiful downtown Rutland are invited to bring their drawing materials to the city and pick a location to sketch.

All of Rutland’s seven current galleries will be open from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and available to warm up, take a break, meet other drawers, and have some refreshments (restrooms will also be open at gallery locations for artists). Rutland Drawing Day will conclude at the Opera House Building at 59 Merchants Row, Rutland, where the day’s drawings can submitted to be exhibited in one of the Rutland galleries and City Hall.

This event is free, open to the public, and will go on rain or shine. All are invited to join in and we hope you do -- happy drawing!!!
