Street Party Details
The Downtown Rutland Street Party is a free community event featuring sidewalk sales, activities and entertainment. Center Street and Merchants Row are blocked off to make room for a variety of vendors set up along the street in open air fashion while the outdoor farmers market takes place nearby in Depot Park. Visitors enjoy music, outdoor dining, children’s activities and more. This historic event brings over 1,000 people into Downtown Rutland each year.
Set-Up and Tear-Down
Booths must be set up between 7:30am to 8:30am that morning. All vehicles must be removed from within the festival boundaries no later than 8:30am. No vehicles will be allowed on event grounds again until 4pm. We ask all vendors to strictly observe these set up and take down times. Early departures are disruptive to other vendors, patrons and to the entertainment. Please ensure that the appearance of your booth is clean, professional and inviting. All vendors are required to properly secure their tents with their own weights. Tents may not be staked. We ask all vendors to strictly observe these times.
Payments & Paperwork
The Downtown Rutland Partnership requires all vendors to provide copies of any permits, paperwork or licenses required by the city or the state. Food vendors must provide proof of insurance. Vendors are subject to a Rooms, Meals, and Entertainment Tax and are responsible for submitting that form to the city post-event. Payment is required with the submission of this application and is non-refundable. Please submit your application by July 1, 2019 to be considered.
The Downtown Rutland Partnership reserves the right to reject any application. If an application is rejected, payment will be refunded. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 802.773.9380 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Due to event’s popularity, vendor space is limited. We reserve the right to jury each application. Additional information may be required.
The availability of power is limited and not guaranteed. If you need power, please let us know on the form and we will contact you to set it up. Food production equipment and any other large equipment must be powered by your own means (solar, generator, etc.) Requests for power not communicated in advance will not be accommodated. If you're just looking to power a cell phone or tablet, we recommend investing in a portable power bank.
The event may be inspected by the State of Vermont's Department of Health or Department of Liquor Control. Please review their guidelines prior to submitting your application. In the event that the participating event is inspected, we encourage all our vendors to provide complete documentation to the state inspector at the time of review.
